Congratulations to Amber Hosking of Dunedin’s Queens High School who has been awarded a full scholarship to Germany for 2010! The value of this is a little under 4000 Euros and means that Amber will have to find only an airfare and pocket money.

The scholarships are provided by our German affiliate Experiment EV and are offered worldwide. Last year three of the twelve scholarships were awarded to NZ students and two of them are still in Germany.

Experiment EV have commented favourably on the high quality of the shortlisted applications and would like to be able to provide assistance to all of these students. The full range of scholarships will not be completed until mid September and we are hoping to attract at least one more for another worthy student on our shortlist.

Applications for this programme can now be accepted a month later than the usual September 1 deadline. Since the process can be long, it would be a good idea to start now. Download an initial application form, complete it and send it to us and we’ll send you a full application prior to an interview at home. Most people with at least two years of French study are able to go and we need to have your application in France by October 1.

Several have already been awarded for exchanges in 2010 but we still have money available. The scholarships apply to any length of exchange in any country. They are needs-based, worth $2000 to $4000 and the application process is simple. If you want to know more ask Ian ian@nziiu.co.nz.
