NZIIU welcomes groups of short-term students to study in various areas of New Zealand. These groups usually stay from 1-4 weeks and participate in conversational English lessons run by NZIIU teachers. Groups also enjoy fun and educational outings, as well as activities in the local area. Group sizes are approximately 15 students to one teacher. Students must be 10 years or older to participate in the programme.
We strive to provide the best possible experience for students, enabling them to fully immerse into New Zealand culture, to practice their English skills, and to make the most of their stay.
With tutor coordinators in both the North and South Island, we can host short-term students in different locations within New Zealand to suit client requirements.
Our programmes are very flexible. Whether you require an internship programme, specialist university programme, intensive English programme or assistance within New Zealand, we can create specific programmes tailored to your needs.
For students to achieve optimal immersion into New Zealand life, they are placed in a host family. All of our host families are carefully selected. They must undergo police vetting and meet the requirements of the New Zealand Code of Practice before they are given the opportunity to host a student.
Groups will be based at a local school or community centre. If based at a school, the visiting students will enjoy arranged interactions with the school students, in addition to informal time together during breaks, so they can experience what it’s like to be at a New Zealand school.
NZIIU teachers support students in their language learning, as well as conduct sightseeing trips. Our aim is to provide the best possible experience for the students. NZIIU staff are on call at any hour of the day or night if support is needed.
